“For there is verily a disannulling (cancellation) of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof. 19For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.” Heb. 7:18-19
Some Christians believe that Jesus cancelled out the law to the point that they no longer have to obey righteousness. The author of Hebrews teaches here that the law was ineffective in its ability to make perfect, so a greater law in a sense cancels out the lesser law. Now, by the power of the Spirit and the law of love, we can be made perfect.
