“Don’t Let Satan Kill Your Testimony”
Sunday Morning Service 09/08/2024-Senior Pastor Terry Fischer
“Sometimes all that takes to hurt your testimony is to have a wrong facial expression… Just having an impatient attitude and inconsideration. Maybe having some anger or high-mindedness that you’re too good destroys our testimony. It isn’t the big sins and all it’lls do that. All of the evil things that we can do certainly destroys our testimony. But it’s also the simple things that we’re not mindful of.” Pastor Terry Fischer
This sermon focuses on the importance of Christians being living testimonies of God’s transformative power. The pastor emphasizes that every born-again believer, like Lazarus who was raised from physical death, has been raised from spiritual death to new life, making them a powerful witness to God’s reality. He explains that effective testimonies create trouble for the devil’s kingdom and are characterized by inner peace, joy, and divine purpose, but can be damaged or killed through worldly behavior, poor attitudes, or lack of love. The sermon highlights how seemingly small actions like facial expressions, impatience, or inconsideration can harm one’s testimony, while genuine love and humility strengthen it. Drawing from a recent outreach experience, the pastor illustrates how authentic love for others makes the Christian witness effective. He concludes by comparing Christians to courtroom witnesses, with the world as the jury watching and making eternal decisions based on their daily conduct, emphasizing that being a witness doesn’t require special effort but rather faithful living, loving God, and serving others while allowing God’s Spirit to work through them naturally.
