TCIW Youth
Welcome Message
Welcome to the TCIW Youth page. We encourage all youth ages 12 – 18 years to join us monthly to hear what the Lord has put on the heart of one our church leaders. Please feel free to explore this page and learn more about how we encourage the youth to be active participants in the church body.
Empowering Teens to Impact the World for Christ
It is our desire that every one of our youth and children understand that they are an important member of the body and bride of Christ (the church). They are not simply a child, but if they are born again, they are a child of the King! We desire to do so much more than simply provide a safe place for the youth to hang out with friends. We desire to see each one of these young people saved and loving & living for God. As a part of that goal, we strive to preach and teach the word of God to our youth the same way we would the adults. That is: inspired by, led by, and anointed by the Holy Spirit. We don’t concern ourselves so much with trying to figure out what will be relevant or relational to the youth (although we do have fun with them), but rather we spend time in prayerful study of God’s word to hear what He would have us share with the youth at any particular meeting.
The youth only meet once a month separately from the rest of the body, otherwise they are encouraged to join their parents and the rest of the adult congregation during our various weekly services. We believe there is incredible value in having the youth be with the adults during these services. This encourages unity and it encourages maturity as we strive to fulfill Titus 2:1-8 by having the older men and women of the church be an active part of the lives of our youth.
Youth Group Leadership Team
Pastor Tyler Bessa & Kim Bessa
The young ones are not a separate group within the church body. They are an important part of the church body. We are not to disregard them or merely entertain them. We must not downplay or dumb down the gospel to them, but rather we must give them the same life of Christ that we desire to give the adults. We accomplish this through our dependance upon the Holy Spirit to guide us and empower us to lead, teach, and demonstrate the Christian life to our youth.
These young ones are the future of the church.
