Just how am I supposed to meet such an impossible standard? Or any standard for that matter? Perhaps looking at verse one will help:

– consolation in Christ – we have His strength to draw on

– comfort of love – God loves us, and wants us to succeed

– fellowship of the Spirit – the Holy Spirit strengthens us from within

– bowels and mercies – God is compassionate toward us, even if we fail.

 

If even these graces aren’t enough, there are hundreds of other promises in God’s Word. Promises of grace, provision, of God’s presence with us as we walk this Christian life.

 

Whenever you encounter a command in God’s Word that seems impossible, look nearby. There will probably be a promise in a nearby verse to help you overcome.
