True Freedom

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Galatians 5:1, 13

As Americans we take pride in our freedom. We enjoy the right to free speech bear arms, and challenge our leaders.

But what is true freedom? Jesus Christ did not give His life so that we can do what we want. See 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

True freedom is not the ability to do what you want. It is the power to do what you ought.

We have been set free from the bondage of sin. That means that we no longer are slaves to mere human desires. We are truly free to serve Christ, do right, and live empowered lives driven by the love of God.

You have been called to liberty. Exercise your rights!
