The 2:13 Devotional

What are You Feeding?
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8
John Wesley said, “What you feed in your life, grows.”
We feed our spiritual lives by what we set our minds upon.
If we dwell on what has gone wrong, what has been done to us in the past, bitterness grows
If we rehearse the lies of the enemy and the world in our minds, there is no way that truth can take root and grow.
A continual flow of the Word of God in our minds will cause joy, peace, and the rest of the fruits of God’s Spirit to grow. Rehearsing the good things that God has done – salvation, answered prayer, a place in Heaven – this is just like sunshine and water to a wilting plant.
